Calypso
Design-led British bathroom furniture — fitted collections, vanity units and the furnishings that finish the room.
About Calypso
Calypso make bathroom furniture in the UK and have been at it for more than twenty years, as part of the family-owned Woodstock Trading Company in Hereford. The range divides in two. The fitted collections – Bowland, Brecon, Cheviot, Chiltern, Dartmoor, Kentmere, Pentland, Selter and Solid Oak – are designed to run the length of a wall, swallow the cistern and the pipework, and work around the awkward corners a real room actually has. The vanity collections – Aurelia, Brenta, Charlbury, Chelworth, Diamante, Firova, Levanto, Minori, Petra, Sora, Tesima, Ultimo, Valor and Veneto – are for a single considered piece, wall-hung or floor-standing.
Door styles run from slab and handleless to Shaker and fluted, and the palette is unusually deep: greens, blues, neutrals, whites, light and dark greys, creams and wood grains, with names like Hunter Green, Marine Blue, Portland Stone and Persian Walnut. Calypso also supply the pieces that finish the room, so a bathroom can come from one place – basins, taps, handles, worktops and upstands, mirrors and illuminated mirrors, WCs and cisterns, and panels and fascias.
Every product carries a five-year guarantee for domestic use. It is worth knowing that moving and wearing parts – hinges, runners, soft-close – are covered for twelve months, and that the guarantee asks for a well-ventilated room and for any cut edge to be sealed; the full terms are in the table below. Twenty-three collections is more than anyone can picture from a screen, so the sensible thing is to come and open the drawers in Swansea and see the finishes under the lights.
