About Laufen
Laufen was founded in the Swiss town it is named after on 4 July 1892, and it still makes its ceramics in Europe – the headquarters and works at Laufen near Basel, and four more production sites in Austria and the Czech Republic. Between them those five plants turn out more than three million pieces of sanitaryware a year.
What Laufen is known for is what it can do with clay. SaphirKeramik is its own material, strong enough to be drawn into thin, almost folded shapes that ordinary vitreous china cannot hold, and it is why a Laufen basin can have a rim a few millimetres thick and still take daily use. The collections run from the sculptural – VAL, The New Classic, ILBAGNOALESSI, Kartell by Laufen – through to the everyday Pro ranges, and cover ceramics, baths, brassware, furniture and mirrors, with designers including Stefano Giovannoni, Konstantin Grcic, Marcel Wanders and studio EOOS. Laufen has been part of the family-owned Roca Group since 1999.
The guarantees are the longest of any brand we carry: thirty years on Vitreon Steel, twenty-five on the ceramics and twenty-five on baths, with a lifetime guarantee on the ceramic cartridge inside the brassware. - Conditions — - Laufen will supply parts and accessories where available after the guarantee has lapsed. The guarantee can be lost through transit or installation damage to accessories or to the surface of the product, through individual repair or modification, through attaching other accessories to the product apart from taps in the suggested areas, or through maintenance that does not follow the notes in the user manual. Access points must be considered when a Laufen product is fitted into a tiled area. The guarantee does not affect your statutory rights
