Waters
Contemporary freestanding baths in acrylic and composite stone, designed on the edge of the Peak District.

About Waters
Waters Baths of Ashbourne have been making contemporary baths on the edge of the Peak District since 2014, and they make very little else – baths, a handful of matching basins and the fittings that go with them. The collections split by material rather than by style: Essence and Elements are moulded in M+ Cast, a stone composite exclusive to Waters, available in gloss or matt; Space, Infinity, Timeless and Linear are formed in Lucite, the DuPont-formulated acrylic Waters describe as “the highest quality sanitary grade acrylic on the market”. There are separate stone and acrylic catalogues, and the honest answer to “what is it made of” depends on which bath you like.
The range is wider than freestanding, which is what most people picture. Space covers shower baths, corner baths and back-to-wall baths for rooms that cannot give up a whole wall, Timeless covers the heritage slipper and roll-top shapes, and Infinity is the freestanding line. Waters sell through a network of 360 hand-selected showrooms and not online, so the only way to judge the depth of a bath is to stand in front of one.
Two things are worth knowing before you choose. The outer surface of any bath or basin can be coated in a durable matt colour for £695, a bespoke service with a ten-day lead time – the panel above shows one. And Waters’ patented two-12 overflow filling system fills the bath through the overflow, so there is no tap to work around; it is included with some models and its visible caps come in twelve colours. Waters is on display in Swansea.

Waters Curve shelf and Companion stool Waters Warranty
Lifetime manufacturer's warranty on Waters baths once installed; the two-12 filling system is 5 years
- Waters baths and basins — Lifetime Waters state their baths are "once installed covered by a lifetime manufacturer's warranty". Applies to both M+ Cast stone and Lucite acrylic models
- What "lifetime" covers — Not published Waters publish no warranty document. The claim appears as one sentence on their About page; their terms and conditions are stock e-commerce boilerplate with no product guarantee, their FAQ page is empty and their guarantee page returns a 404. Ask us and we will get the terms in writing from Waters before you order
- two-12 overflow filling system — 5 years Warranted against manufacturing defect for 5 years, NOT for the lifetime of the bath - even though it is fitted into the bath and included with some models. Where it is used as a filler, Waters recommend cleaning the aerator filter periodically
- Painted outer finish — Made to order Any bath or basin can have its outer surface coated in a durable matt colour for £695. A bespoke service with a 10-day lead time from order confirmation, so it is not a stock item and not returnable as one
- Materials — - M+ Cast is a stone composite exclusive to Waters (Essence, Elements). Lucite is a DuPont-formulated sanitary-grade acrylic (Space, Infinity, Timeless, Linear). Sizes are given to a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 5mm
